Area and Travel Information

The Claiborne Mansion is located in the Faubourg Marigny, the second oldest neighborhood in the city. The Marigny is centrally located just four blocks from the French Quarter in a vibrant area with jazz clubs, coffee shops and eclectic restaurants like Wasabi (nouveau Japanese).

We are also well situated for travel to other neighborhoods with easy access to mass transit one to four blocks away. The #3 Vieux Carré bus stops at the corner of Washington Park at Royal and Frenchman (one block away) and makes a loop through the French Quarter. The Riverfront Streetcar starts at Esplanade Avenue (four blocks away) and runs along the Mississippi River to Canal Street. There is also a taxi button conveniently available on all room phones.
